What is copper and what is it good for?
Copper is a natural mineral found on Earth that is an a mix of orange and pink in color. Copper ages by coming in contact with the elements, changing to a darker shade or even greenish-blue with the right chemicals. Copper is highly conductive and is used to create electricity. It is soft and malleable, which makes it great to work with in metalsmithing and wire wrapping. However, copper work hardens, making it a durable option as well. Once a copper jewelry piece is finished, it should be nice and strong, lasting a long time if made properly.
Copper plays an important roll in immune function and protects cognitive function, among many other health benefits. Wearing copper jewelry is said to help aid in arthritis relief, and can help balance the mind, body and spirit.

Who makes all this jewelry and where does it come from?
My name is Kahlia. I'm an self-taught metalsmith that lives in the Pacific Northwest in my school bus tiny home and workshop. All the jewelry and decor in my shop is 100% handmade by me. Each piece is uniquely handcrafted with copper and natural gemstones. I also make all the jewelry components including ear wires and clasps. The only thing that I do not hand made is my copper chain, which is skillfully handmade by someone else.
What metals do you use?
I work with the purest copper sheet metal available along with other metals like brass and sterling silver by fusing them together using solder.
What metalsmithing tools do you use?
To create my copper jewelry, I use various metalsmithing tools like a jewelers saw, hand files, sand paper, a torch, eco friendly pickling solution, flux, hammers, chasing tools, stamps and more. I use liver of sulfur to create the rich, warm patina for an earthy, antique look. I use high quality coating called Protectaclear to preserve all my jewelry.
What kinds of stones do you use?
I use a wide variety of all natural, authentic gemstones. Some of these stones are Carnelian, Jasper, Agate, Moonstone and Labradorite.
How long does copper jewelry last?
If you take care of your jewelry, it will last a long time. The coating that I use on the copper will work indefinitely if you avoid chemical contact and excessive water contact.
My skin is sensitive... will copper bother my skin or turn it green?
All my pieces are coated in an eco-friendly finish to keep your jewelry from changing colors and also creates a barrier between the metal and your skin and any other outside elements that would typically turn copper different colors.
What are your return policies?
I offer a 30 day return policy. If you are not happy with your jewelry or if something has happened to it in that time, please contact me via the contact page. You can view detailed policies here.
How do I contact you?
