About the Artist
My name is Kahlia Chase. I am in my late twenties and I live and work in a skoolie(school bus converted tiny home, it's an ongoing project over the last couple years). I enjoy nature for inspiration and spiritual/physical healing. I love to hike, rock hound, mountain bike, camp, yoga, meditate, craft, grow plants, brew kombucha. Anything that involves the outdoors, I am interested.
I am a practicing Pantheist Pagan. I celebrate the Wheel of the Year, the Divine Universe (Mother Nature) and practice a bit of witchcraft. My view is that the Universe is god and god is everything. God IS the Universe. God is in you and God is in me, as well as the wind and the trees. I am open and accepting of all practices that support overall goodness and well being of all living things. In other words, do what ye want as long as ye not hurting anything.
I started weaving in 2013 and haven't stopped since. My vision is to create meaningful pieces for my customers that reflect my own values.
In my early twenties, I was in a pretty severe auto accident. Months went by and my concussion symptoms and headaches seemed to get worse. After breaking down and seeing a neurologist, I learned that I had a brain disorder. My disorder had become symptomatic from the trauma that my body had been through. I suffered for years, looking for natural remedies like massage, chiropractic, you name it. Surgery was recommended and I could not face that option because it honestly scared me.
Two years ago, it got to the point where I was in such bad shape that I just didn't want to be me anymore. Dealing with depression, seeing a therapist, not functioning and being able to work, I didn't see anymore options left besides surgery. I finally decided to go back to my neurologist and make the appointment. I was terrified.
I had brain surgery in January of 2018. Ever since then a huge burden has slowly been lifted from my shoulders. With a pain management regimen and a low stress lifestyle, life has gotten a lot better. I can look at life in an optimistic way again and I don't take life for granted.
Through these passed 6 years, there were periods of time when I couldn't work and weaving was the only thing I felt like I could do. It slowly grew from a hobby into a full time career for me and I don't regret the path that I have taken, no matter how hard it was. It has made me a stronger person.
Did you know that I do energy work?
Through suffering, I was gifted compassion. I know first hand what it's like to suffer, and I will do anything to alleviate that suffering. I've lost hope, I've been in darkness. I genuinely find fulfillment in helping people and the planet, and that's why I have partnered with Eden Projects.
Since surgery, I have slowly introduced energy work into my practice. Every morning I start my day off with meditation and reflection. I spend time with each piece thinking of my customer and any energy requests they may have. I program each piece by intention setting of loving-kindness(Metta), compassion and strength to promote well-being in my tribe and extending that out into the world.
I believe that as a human, I have a responsibility to share my wisdom, generosity and compassion with others. I believe that the Universe is unbounded energy with pure potential that we can utilize. If we can manage to take a step back and look at the bigger picture, we can see that there is much more at play here. Life is all about perspective.
We must plant the seeds of compassion, patience and understanding inside of our souls. Plant these seeds of wisdom in yourself and reflect inwards. The ore we nurture these seeds, the more they grow into light and spread, eventually filling you and intertwining you with the Universe.
Be in tune with the cycles of life. Stay strong in your efforts. Get curious about the magic of life.
I hope my story has inspired you to never give up on your dreams.
Spreading nothing but good vibes to you and wishing you the very best. Blessed be your time and efforts.
